Description
The seagulls swarm around the familiar scent of fish blood and tobacco smoke as you warm up the engine on your fishing vessel, and prepare to head out onto the open waters. Yaquina Bay is a shallow coastal bay on the Oregon Coast in the Pacific Northwest of North America. The name Yaquina comes from the native American tribe that had been apportioned this land in the 1850s as a reservation but just over a decade later it had been opened up to white settlement. Perhaps as you ferry out into the bay you will hear the sounds of the ancient Yaquina people fishing alongside you.
