Description
The sultry summer night of the southern state of Oklahoma can really bring one back to the dreams and musings of a simpler place and time. Critters of all sorts cavort in an exuberant chorus of forest frivolity that seems so wild and yet so peaceful. Oklahoma is situated between the Great Plains and the Ozark Plateau in the Gulf of Mexico watershed. The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, a favorite for hikers and rock climbers in the region, is also a 59,020-acre area of protection for buffalo, elk and deer.
