Description
These wonderful winged minstrels wander through the forest flaunting their happy harmony, and afford the wood the full pleasure of their precious presence. There is no sweeter sound to sooth the savage beast and settle the strained heart than the supremely sumptuous sound of a wistful little warbler. There are a number of birds called "warblers". They are not necessarily closely related, but do share some characteristics, such as being fairly small, vocal and insect eating. The smallest species is the Lucy's Warbler, at about 6.5 grams and 10.6 cm (4.2 in). The most enigmatic species of the genus, the Large-billed Reed-warbler, was rediscovered in Thailand on March, 2006. It was only found once before, in 1867. It was found also in a remote corner of Afghanistan in the Summer of 2009.
