Description

The Tube is almost always full of passengers, and this time you are lucky to find a seat. You settle in and close your eyes to listen to the rhythm of the London underground. A woman’s digitally recorded voice announces all the stops as they are approached. You rest easy, only opening your eyes when the doors open and close. Soon, you will need to get off and the ride has been smooth and relaxing. The Victoria line is a deep-level London Underground route running from the south (Zone 2) to the north-east (Zone 3) of London. It is colored light blue on the Tube map. Unlike most other lines on the Underground, it runs entirely below ground with the exception of the connection between Seven Sisters and the line's depot at Northumberland Park. Constructed in the 1960s, it was the first entirely new tube line in London for fifty years, and was designed to relieve congestion on other lines, in particular the Piccadilly line. It has always been operated using automatic train operation, though all trains do carry drivers.
