UK Dock

The quiet sunday scene on the banks of a British boating dock can do a great deal to bring your nerves down to a nice calm place. Let your feet dangle over the waters edge and watch as your mind wanders into a peaceful oblivion, melting into the blue sky and serene saturation of the easy ocean current lapping against the shore a few meters below. The world's oldest known dock at is at Lothal, India and dates back to 2400 BCE. Lothal's people were responsible for the earliest-known portrayals of realism in art and sculpture, telling some of the most well-known fables of today. Its scientists used a shell compass and divided the horizon and sky into 8–12 whole parts, possibly pioneering the study of stars and advanced navigation 2000 years before the Greeks. The town of Lothal thrived for many years but constant threats from tropical storms and floods caused immense destruction, which destabilized the culture and ultimately caused its end.
