Description

The sweet smell of fresh rain radiates through the air like some heavenly perfume scenting the very waters which now fall from the sky. You sit and watch the world become wet. Drops spilling from the metal channels running around the world, built with the hope that they might keep control over earth's power, but you know it's only a matter of time until the seas sour man's morbid self confidence. A downspout, downpipe or leader is a vertical pipe for carrying rainwater from a rain gutter to ground level. There the water is directed away from the building's foundation and to a sewer, rainwater harvesting, or let into the ground through seepage. Rainwater collected from the roofs of houses, tents and local institutions, can make an important contribution to the availability of drinking water. Water collected from the ground, sometimes from areas which are especially prepared for this purpose, is called Stormwater harvesting. In some cases, rainwater may be the only available, or economical, water source. This sound uses the following file from Freesound: http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=111737
