Description
Upon the naked green patch flies a mighty metal machine making its way home. Birds and bees welcome the bold nomad through, but its massive wheels turning, its hot breath churning, hide the sweet sounds of the forest from view. Never to know how the wood sings to the night, the train only hears its own roaring might. Too bad we all can't enjoy the natural sound, but lucky you are to know where true ambiance can be found. A forest railway is a mode of transport which is used for the moving of felled logs to sawmills or railway stations. Special locomotive classes such as the Shay and Climax locomotive were developed for such purposes.
