Sparkler

Listening to the familiar sizzle of a summertime sparkler is a great way to spend the day. Sparklers are thin metal rods approximately 8 inches long that are dipped in a thick batter of slow-burning pyrotechnic composition. A sparkler, though commonly mistaken for a type of hand-held firework, actually makes up its own category of pyrotechnics which burn slowly while emitting colored flames, sparks, and other effects.
