Southern Greece Cicada and Collared Dove

Of the 1500 species of cicadas in the world, the Cicada cretensis (Hemiptera, Cicadidae) is specific to Southern Greece. This sound features the cicada accompanied by the song of the collared dove. Both the dove and cicada can be found in Greece, not too far from the Mediterranean. Male cicadas of Greece prefer to sing in olive trees, so it would not be uncommon to hear the song of the cicada and dove coming from the same tree.
