Southeast Asian Cicadas

There are roughly 1500 different cicada species in world, many of which are located within Southern Asia, specifically Southeast Asia. Cicadas thrive in warm and forest-like conditions, therefore the tropical forests of Southeast Asia are perfect habitats for the hundreds of different cicada species. The sounds you hear are just a few samples of the many songs that can be created from cicadas in Southeast Asia such as the Preta gratiosa (Melichar), Cofana unimaculata (Signoret), and Cofana subvirescens (Stål).
