Smoking

As the ignited embers at the end of the little white stick release a hot red glow, cutting through the dark of the night, you smoothly draw in a cool breath of air that is fast followed by the tingling sensation of warm tangy tobacco smoke streaming softly over your pink tongue and into the cavern of your slowly expanding chest. The history of smoking can be dated to as early as 5000 BC, and has been recorded in many different cultures across the world. Tobacco was first discovered by Europeans during their exploration of the Americas. In regions like India and Subsaharan Africa, it merged with existing practices of smoking (mostly of cannabis). In Europe, it introduced a new type of social activity and a form of drug intake which previously had been unknown.
