Rusty Metal Scrapes

Someone get some oil. These rusty old hinges make sounds that would curl some people’s toes. The red-orange rust that grows on some metal is caused by oxidation with the air. Water helps dissolve the already rusted portions, exposing even more metal to be oxidized. That’s why mom always told you not to leave your bike out in the rain.
