Rural Shore

Rural areas are comprised of open country and settlements with fewer than 2,500 residents; areas designated as rural can have population densities as high as 999 per square mile or as low as 1 person per square mile.Today, 75 percent United States' inhabitants live in suburban and urban areas, but cities occupy only 2 percent of the country. Rural areas occupy the remaining 98 percent. There appear to be six definitions for what is rural in Canada, nine in the United-States, two in the United-Kingdom, three in Australia and one in New Zealand.
