Description
The vibrant volumes of chilly water wash through the mountain pass, pouring over dry earth and golden rocks, granting the desert with tiny gardens growing along its bountiful banks. The bellow of brute force water washing away everything in its path is the breath of beauty for this desolate and stolid stretch of planet earth. This river runs through the tiny town of Castril, located in the province of Granada, Spain. It is thought that the name Castril comes form the word 'castro', meaning encampment, dating back to when the Roman army had fortifications there. Since 2001, Castril has been officially recognised as a place of historic interest with its steep, narrow cobbled streets, whitewashed houses and all around authentic representation of Andalusian village life.
