Rain Beating on an Iron Roof

As rain falls onto the corrugated iron, each drop brings with it a weight that generates a percussion-type sound. The water pings against the metal before flowing into the grooves of the iron and either falling off the side of the roof in small streams or collecting within roof-side gutters.
