Description
The angelic ebb and flow of this pristine piece of coastline captures the true romance of northern Europe. A quiet strength seems to permeate the passage of time, from one wave to the next, as onlookers lounge on the white sand and tan themselves, hoping to have their sun starved skin soak up some warming rays. Pirita is one of the 8 administrative districts of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, which is bordered to the north by the Gulf of Finland, to the west by the Baltic Sea, to the south by Latvia, and to the east by the Russian Federation. Despite the fact that Pirita occupies a relatively big area, it has a population of only 15,379. This mainly because it consists mostly of private houses, instead of apartment blocks typical to some other districts of Tallinn. In summer its beach, the largest in town, has up to 30000 visitors daily.
