Description
These magical little men and women prance and dance their way down the isles of life, alluring all of the wayward wanderers with curious notes played out on their many of instruments. These muses of the unmarked path can help you find your way home to safety and sanctuary, or they can help carry you on through the unknown to the destination of your destiny. Of course you can always decide to stay with them and join the band. Who knows what adventures you might have with these mystical minstrels as they cover the land. A minstrel was a medieval European bard who performed songs whose lyrics told stories about distant places or about real or imaginary historical events. As early as 1321, the minstrels of Paris were formed into a guild. A guild of royal minstrels was organized in England in 1469. Some were women, or women who followed minstrels in their travels. Minstrels throughout Europe also employed trained animals, such as bears. Minstrels in Europe died out slowly, having gone nearly extinct by about 1700, though isolated individuals working in the tradition existed even into the early 19th century.
