The soft pitter-patter of the sky gently joining the earth as fresh cool water falls from up high onto the awaiting ground below is such a sensuous and simple symphony that only the grace of great imagination and kindness could have produced this powerfully subtle scene. Mueller Park is a park in Western Australia named after German botanist Ferdinand von Mueller who described several hundred species of Australian flora and who participated in and promoted the exploration of Australia in the mid-nineteenth century. In the early 1900s it housed tennis, croquet, bowls, cricket and football clubs. In December 1916 the park was renamed Kitchener Park in response to war-time sensitivities. In 1981 the park was changed back to its original name. The park currently comprises 4.3 hectares (11 acres).
