Metal Shack In The Wind

The sky begins to darken with heavy clouds as you take refuge from the oncoming storm inside the shack along the trail. It provides shelter from the onslaught of the heavy rain. The wind howls and pushes against the metal walls with a fierce might, but the foundation is strong and from the safety of the shack you will listen to the storm pass slowly. A shack is a type of small, often primitive shelter or dwelling. The word may derive from the Nahuatl (Aztec) word xahcalli or "adobe house" by way of Mexican Spanish xacal/jacal, which has the same meaning as "shack". It was a common usage among people of Mexican ancestry throughout the U.S. southwest and was picked up by speakers of American English.
