Magpies

Magpies, sometimes referred to as Jays, are passerine birds of the crow family. Their official name is the European Magpie, and they are the only non-mammal known to be able to recognize themselves in the mirror. As scavengers, Magpies will eat anything they find to be edible. Their selection of food can range from worms to excrement. The vocalization of the Magpie is determined to be either, for the purposes of mating and courtship, to alarm other birds of possible predators, or to move and individuate birds.
