Lighthouse on a Cliff
This lighthouse above the straight warns passing ships of the rocky cliff on which it stands. While most modern ships use sonar and other sophisticated navigation devices to avoid such hazards, smaller personal vessels still rely on the beacon from the lighthouse to inform them of oncoming danger. From this particular cliff one can see miles in almost all directions. The point is constantly buffeted by the wind, but is so high up that the sound of the surf is almost imperceptible except on the stormiest of days.
