Large River

Rivers are natural bodies of flowing water. They typically consist of fresh water and derive from precipitation, groundwater, springs, other rivers, and the release of stored water in glaciers, snow, and ice. The river you hear lies within a wider floodplain that has been molded by flood waters for many years. As the river follows its course toward a sea, ocean, lake, or branching rivers, the water cascades and splashes over rocks and large boulders creating a distinct sound.
