Heart Monitor

Between the clear and consistent tones of the monitor is the distinct sound of silence. No hospital commotion in the background, nor murmurs from loved ones in the room. Just the quietness of a sleeping patient holding onto a thread of life as the machine keeps its careful watch over the helpless one laying all alone in the empty room. These units allow continuous monitoring of a patient, with medical staff being continuously informed of the changes in the person's general condition. Some monitors can even warn of pending fatal cardiac events before visible signs are noticeable to clinical staff, such as atrial fibrillation or premature ventricular contraction.
