Description
Tokyo's crowded streets are jammed with pedestrians and retailers all calling out with their own distinct voice to make for one of the richest city soundscapes in the world. At the Hachiko Exit of Shibuya Train Station sits a statue of Hachiko, a dog famously remembered for his loyalty to his owner, a professor at the University of Tokyo. Adjacent to the statue is Shibuya's famous scramble crossing where all vehicular traffic stops and allows pedestrians to cross the intersection in every direction at the same time. The scene is a flowing mass of people weaving in and out and all around one another in a dance that only the urban trained could accomplish.
