French Market

Stroll the sparkling stands of colorful fruit as you eye the odd passerby at the fabulous French Market. The French Market is a series of commercial buildings in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. While part of this space has been a market since 1791, the oldest structures in the market date to about 1813. Much of the area which once housed arcades of roofed but walless merchant stands now has shops and restaurants separated by doors and walls. The flea market is especially busy on weekends where free musical events are often given.
