Between dawn and sunset, and sunset and dusk is a beautiful and tranquil time called either twilight or blue hour. During twilight, the earth is not light nor dark, but somewhere in between. The sun is not actually visible because it is below the horizon. Light scattered within the upper atmosphere illuminates the lower atmosphere creating a romantic and ambient lighting effect.
