Dog Panting

A big piece of flapping pink flesh flailing out from your best friend's mouth, and the sounds of a hurried heaving breath coming from your happy little animal, are familiar parts of having a dog to almost everyone around the world. A dog panting is an example of thermoregulation. This is the ability of an organism to keep its body temperature within certain boundaries, even when the surrounding temperature is very different. f the body is unable to maintain a normal temperature and it increases significantly above normal, a condition known as hyperthermia occurs. The opposite condition, when body temperature decreases below normal levels, is known as hypothermia.
