Description
Footsteps scrape and settle along the asphalt as voluminous voices move this way and that through the menagerie of fruits, vegetables, and other goods brought out for the pleasure of the passing crowd. Time stops in this sacred place where the foundations of modern economic society were lain and have been thriving for millennia. Diss is a small town in South Norfolk, England, and the only one built around a lake. Diss was the poet Sir John Betjeman’s favourite Norfolk town about which he wrote, “Dear Mary, yes, it will be bliss, to go with you by train to Diss”. This all year round market is a great place to buy anything from cellphones to dog food.
