Pomponia imperatoria, from Malaysia, a tropical species of cicada can reach 15 cm (6 in) in length as compared to the usual length of usually 2 to 5 cm (1 to 2 in). Cicadas have been (or are still) eaten in Malaysia, as well as Ancient Greece, China, Burma, Latin America and the Congo.
