Chinese New Year

As darkness falls, the streets fill with people gathering to celebrate the ancient tradition of the Chinese New Year. Fireworks wrapped in vibrant red paper are strung together, hung for all to see until they fulfill their purpose of illuminating the night sky. People converse in Chinese and cheer as each fiery explosion screams through the air, accompanied by a showering of sparks and a symphony of crackles. Children laugh, people chatter, and the air hisses with spirited firecrackers.
