Description
The backstroke, also sometimes called the back crawl, is one of the four swimming styles regulated for the International Olympic Committee, and is the only competition swimming style that starts in the water. The backstroke is an ancient style of swimming. The first Olympic backstroke competition was the 1900 Paris Olympics men's 200 meter. The maximum swimming speed for backstroke is around 1.84 meter per second. In backstroke, the arms contribute most of the forward movement. The arm stroke consists of two main parts: the power phase and the recovery. This sound uses the following sound file from Freesound (http://www.freesound.org):
