Antique Clock

Tick-tock tick-tock. The steady metronome of an antique clock. Mechanical clocks first appeared around the 13th century, replacing the sundial. The swinging pendulum, moving to and fro with a precise frequency, was used to measure time in the first clocks. Today, atomic clocks keep time even more precisely by measuring the oscillations of electrons emitting microwaves.
