African Starling Aviary

The subtle clicks and caws calling out through the morning mist make this African aviary a special space for connecting with the colorful companions that fill the land with their feathered beauty. Wander into the dreams of a distant land, pristine and majestic, and fall in love with the sounds of this sweet safari. The starlings inhabit a wide range of habitats from the Arctic Circle to the Equator, in fact the only habitat they do not typically occupy is the driest sandy deserts. They are naturally absent from the Americas and from large parts of Australia, but are present over the majority of Europe, Africa and Asia. The high diversity of species found in Asia and Africa is not matched by Europe, which has one widespread type and two others. There are 39 species in Asia and 32 in Africa.
